This week, as next week will be also, is just work, work, and more work. Not for senior project alone.
So this week I worked on fixed up our presentation on Friday. Which was fixing the videos, getting feedback from Wagner, making sure everything worked properly. Friday was also making buttons and making sure we had all the files we needed for when I go to get the T-shirts printed.
Saturday was a fun day of waking up to “Hey we need to fix this thing by one hour’s time” which was honestly not a fun thing to wake up to. Thankfully Ziang helped out and we fixed our poster. Turns out a few hours later we needed to fix it some more. So into the labs I went, as my computer is dead and I have no means of doing anything otherwise, and fixed it. Then fixed it again because I didn’t click the right drop down menu and it ended up being huge.
Sunday was honestly a work day for another class and this Monday I’ve been practicing to be off ‘script’ as well as I made something for the class to have tomorrow since it’s our last class as seniors. IDK if I’ll be off script all that well… I’m way more nervous than I should be. Mostly because I literally said at one point was “our character…. is blue.” I was so stupid in the moment and couldn’t think of what I wanted to say. It was the whole “SAY SOMETHING QUICKLY INSTEAD OF PAUSING FOR AN UNGODLY AMOUNT OF TIME!!!” and things happened. That was not a good presentation for me.
Crossing my fingers that tomorrow will be a better day.
Breakdown: The senior show begins this Sunday. Except for finishing the requirement stuffs of class, this week I spent most time on practicing the presentation. Our team also presented the game conference of Drexel in Saturday.
Hours: practicing presentation: 5h
Friday`s meeting: 1h
Positive: almost done.
Negative: should have more practicing.
We have attended our Drexel game expo in Creese student center. We tried to expose our game as much as we could. The most important thing is that people love Remote Raiders. We witnessed the players talked and shouted to each other as a part of gameplay. We also got a lot of useful feedback. Moreover, we understood that when the player complained about something means there is something wrong out there, but what they suggest usually not the best solution.
Next Sunday, which is 7days from now, will be our senior show!!! Woooohoooo!!! There will be playtesting and free food.
Until next time!
So on Tuesday we gave a presentation and I was pretty nervous once again. Hopefully with some practicing I can calm down again. I’m really excited and nervous and it’s such a big deal once Senior show comes. I just know in the back of my head who will be watching, especially my parents, and I wish to do well.
Friday we gave our presentation again to Wagner who gave wonderful feedback, we’re closer to finalizing it. With his great feedback we worked on the presentation on Saturday, practiced Sunday, made final edits on Monday.
All in all we’re really focusing on finishing this presentation and making it fantastic.
Tuesday we were fashionably late and gave our latest rough in of a presentation. With additional feedback we presented for Wagner on Friday, getting more feedback on what to improve.
With all of that precious feedback we had a long work day on Saturday to work on it and get a bit of practicing in. Sunday was far more practicing, getting the timing down, and Monday minor edits took place.
Together we’re smoothing out the rough edges for once fancy (Fancier) presentation June 5th!
Bad news first: The trailer got delayed, and in general we’re a bit behind schedule on that stuff.
Now for the good news: We’re almost done! Granted, it’s very “make or break” right now, but the game is finished and we’re spending the rest of the week putting finishing touches on the trailer. It’ll be a great show when I’ve got a bit more to actually share with you all!
This week we continued working on refining our presentation. We made our slide look better and reorganized everything. We have nailed down and assigned slide to each person. Then, we practice and practice and practiced a lot.
Until next time!
Started the week with a BANG- Presentation Tuesday morning! We got a lot of good feedback which shot us off for the rest of the week.
Thursday meeting we pressed hard, talking about senior show, graduation, and how this presentation we’re doing fits into that and our own mad schedules. As well as what we wanted to show to our academic advisor, Wagner, this week.
We ended up mimicking our presentation which was held before the digital media faculty, while proposing our solutions to their criticisms. And with that we got feedback from Wagner as well as asked about the dreaded, and deadly, live demo situation. Our proposed solution will once again keep up flying by the seat of our pants. But if it’s anything this team knows it’s how to walk on the edge of danger.
Together with our combined powers we edited our presentation on Saturday as well as captured new gameplay footage in order to satisfy our needs as well as add to our presentatoin. Unfortunately this is where some hiccups happened in our hour of need. So we cast off with less than happy results hoping to fix it up the following Monday.
With our usual luck following us like a black cloud our troubles continued, preventing us from achieving our prescribed goals. And like always, we did the best we could in order to get the best feedback we could get to hone in our presentation to be show ready come June 5th, our Senior Showcase. (Which you can watch online and will be linked via our various social media platforms) Out of that day we did get a new trailer as well as a modified logo to advertise our website, amazingly.
We have a long road ahead of us, but this is the light at the end of the tunnel. We’ll have to pull together to get what we need done, but no matter what happens, we’ll get it done.
Woah boy, this week was long. It felt as if time stood still.
This week I worked on our marketing materials to send off to Troy who is working on the Senior Showcase Pamphlet. It was a lot of Fiddling around trying to make our character look good as well as give him an updated image for our game screenshot. The design we saw this week was a surprisingly cool palette… and our materials were also in the cooler color range. It just didn’t work.
We focused reworking our presentation in the Saturday meeting as well as preparing for everything else related to senior show. We needed more recordings of our game (which we wonderfully used an old camera script from Pat on) as well as some small updates in the game itself. We need shirts printed, buttons made, the works. And it’s all due June 5th, so soon!
Time is a funny thing, when you want it to go fast it goes slow, when you need it to slow down it goes fast. Which is what happened on Monday as we tried to fix up the trailer. I reworked it entirely based on a script Resh and Pat made… to be completely honest it was laughably bad. Meme worthy bad. However, it was also a decent starting point to figure out what we want. Resh and I are going to have to sit down and fix it up but we’re one step closer to the result we want…. we just need more filming.
Everything seems to start with getting more materials. We need more specifically tailored things and less B-Roll footage. Which is a this week’s problem now. Crossing my fingers!
Salutations, Raiders! Sorry to say, some technical issues knocked us back a bit on that trailer and presentation, but it looks salvageable and we should be back up to full speed by the end of the week! Unfortunately the rest of my work has been legal, and I can’t wholly talk about it, but stay tuned! We’ve got major updates incoming from me!
